The average property price in Alicante Province is around €240,000 which is similar to the national average in Spain.
Of the 10,385 homes sold in the last quarter, 48% were bought by international buyers, this is over 2 times the average in Spain. The majority of expats buying in Alicante Province are British, who benefit from excellent transport links to the UK.
As with most of Spain, the popular coastal towns are the most expensive places to buy. In Alicante Province these are concentrated around the North, with the luxurious and convenient resort towns such as Calpe, Denia, Javea, and Morairia. The most affordable areas can be found further South in and around Torrevieja. The less commercialised village of La Mata has very affordable property and is beautifully situated by the ocean. There are also many affordable inland options such as the pretty villages of Almoradi and Jacarilla.
Housing sales in Alicante Province have been gradually climbing since 2011, though there has been a decline of 4% during the last year and 7.5% during the last quarter: see total house sales charts. Many areas in Alicante Province continue to be popular holiday destinations with many investors renting out holiday homes during the summer months.
